The important thing to notice in this sketch is that aside from the fact that Woody isn't afraid of guns, Woody is notably taller and wider than Quantum.

Part of the reason why Woody is so carefree with his gun here is that our original idea was that he would have tons and tons of clips full of rubber bullets for his gun and one clip with real bullets. Sort of the way that Andy of Mayberry only let Barney have one bullet for his gun. Somewhere along the way we gave up on that idea and occasionally had Woody shoot paint pellets.
